Pre-Ride Introduction

I'll start off by quoting Mike Tyson, "Everyone has a plan until they are punched in the face."  I am hoping that there will be no punching during this ride, but you get what I mean.  This is the itinerary of the charity ride as it stands today.  I'll be launching off March 29 and ride in a counterclockwise direction, and if there is no punching, I expect to be back in Sunnyvale, CA early August.  I chose to leave what appears to be this early in the season so as to avoid as much of the heat of the summer as possible considering the length of the ride.

Part of this ride is fulfilling an ambition of mine for many years.  I will ride into Mexico and visit a small village in the Copper Canyon called Batopilas.

In addition to visiting my father in South Carolina and my sister in New Jersey, I'll be visiting friends in 10 states and 2 Canadian provinces from college, high school and from as far back as 5th grade that I haven't seen face to face in decades.

My wife, Charlene, will fly into Miami on May 11 and we'll head down to Key West for a few days, then join my brother in Orlando and make our way up to visit my dad.  Charlene flies out of Newark to head back to work on May 27.  From there I'll ride on.  More to come.
