Metuchen, New Jersey Catch Up on Blogging (May 27, 2024)

May 27, 2024

On Friday, we passed 8,500 miles on our way to Metuchen.  So we're essentially halfway to the goal of 17,000 miles for this charity run.  Through the generousity of family, friends, ex-colleagues, and even strangers, we've reached $7,081 of our goal of $10,000.

The motorcycle is at the Yamaha mechanic getting 32K mile service including tires changed, oil/filter, brake pads F/R, hydraulic fluids, spark plugs, gas latch, air fulter cleaned.  Hopefully I'll have the bike back by the close of business on Tuesday.

A note that I have never ridden tires to this state of use.  Had a bit of anxiety about being far from home with so little rubber left.   But as my friend Memo Ayala says, "No pasa Nada."

Got to spend time relaxing with Charlene and my sister Jane here in Metuchen.  Last night my cousins Gayle and Dan and his wife Liz came over and we enjoyed dinner and catching up over family memories.

Charlene boarded a flight from Newark on her way back to SFO to be ready for work tomorrow.  I'll miss her till I get back to Sunnyvale the frist week of August.

As I am without the bike for another 2 days, lets catch up on videos and fotos that have yet to make it into the blog.

    1. Yea, me too. I got a new helmet, gloves, and rain boots today. Looks like rain for many, many days in New York, maybe up to 7 or 8 days.. Might have to just ride in the rain for a few days.

    1. Yea! Right? Was nervous as I usually replace tires before they wear that much. But when you're on the road, you're on the road.
