The Venetian Pool in Coral Gables, Florida is the largest freshwater pool in the United States, holding 820,000 gallons of spring water from an underground aquifer. It was designed by Phineas Paist and Denman Fink and completed in 1924 in a former coral rock quarry. The pool is named after Venice, Italy and features a waterfall, grottos, and a kiddie pool. It's surrounded by terracotta buildings with wrought iron balconies and has a small sandy area for sunbathing. The water is kept at a constant 76°F year-round.
