10,000 Miles in the Record Books (June 7, 2024)

10,000 miles posted today at 2:39PM in Michigan today.





This is the last 1,000 miles, from Rush, New York to outisde Ludington, Michigan.  Note the quick  (2 day) pass through of Canada.  Rain has been driving me to advance my itinerary and has been converting this ride from a relaxed wandering to get back on the bike to stay ahead of the rain ride.  Hoepfully the next days will allow for more relaxed riding.

Ludington, Michigan, I rode a bit more than 200 miles today to visit various sites in the northern peninsula of Michigan.


The Walk of Art Sculpture Park in Elk Rapids, Michigan, is one of my favorite spots, blending art and nature beautifully. Wandering through the park, I get to enjoy a diverse collection of sculptures set against the backdrop of stunning natural landscapes. It’s a perfect place for me to unwind and appreciate the creativity of various artists in an outdoor setting.




























The Grand Traverse Lighthouse in Michigan is a fascinating destination that I absolutely love visiting. Located at the tip of the Leelanau Peninsula, this historic lighthouse offers breathtaking views of Lake Michigan and a glimpse into maritime history. Exploring the lighthouse museum and wandering the surrounding state park makes for a perfect day trip filled with natural beauty and rich history.

Just a little more mud... Just a little of what I am seeing on the Carratera Transpeninsular Apparently riding in the US for 2 years with the tourpack has not prepared it for use on the Transpeninsular highway.
